Crystal grids are an creative and powerful way to manifest your intentions.

Through combinations of crystals and sacred geometric patterns, your intentions are magnified, and you are able to manifest your desires  faster and with more accuracy than with, say, a single crystal.

Creating and using a crystal grid is an intuitive process, allowing you to design a powerful, beautiful work of art that combines your intentions with multiple crystals and sacred geometric patterns into a continuous flow of energy.

Each grid can be crafted for a different purpose, such as Abundance, Love, Healing, Chakra alignment, Protection, Courage. The sky is the limit, really, if you can think it, you can grid it. You can also do grids for community and global healing and peace.

Let’s look at how crystal grids are created, activated, and used by some people. Again, there’s really no wrong or right way to craft a crystal grid. This is just an example of what works for some. Follow your intuition!

First and foremost in this process is deciding your intention, your purpose for your grid. Narrowing our busy minds’ thoughts down to one purpose can be challenging in our fast paced world. Here are a few things to ponder that may help you decide on the focus of your crystal grid.

  • What do you need or want more of in your life?
  • What do you feel is missing?
  • Do you want to maintain a certain aspect of your life?
  • What energy do you want to send out into the Universe?

Try to be specific with your intention, as this will likely determine what crystals you choose for your grid.

Grid Templates

The pattern or shape of your grid template is yet another way this art form can be a unique extension and amplifier of your energy. Certain shapes and patterns are found repeatedly in nature that follow certain geometric archetypes. These are an expression of Sacred Geometry and are symbolic of underlying metaphysical principles of the union between the part and the whole. They are a blueprint for the mind to the foundation of all things.

The sphere and its two dimensional shadow, the circle, are the simplest, most perfect of forms; the ultimate expression of unity, completion, infinity. Atoms, cells, seeds, and planets all echo a spherical pattern of the macrocosm and microcosm. Spirals form the basis of nautilus shells and some plant growth. Sacred Geometry deserves a post all its own to more fully explore its concepts, but we will look at a few better know powerful shapes.

Metatron’s Cube is true powerhouse to use in crystal grid work. It symbolizes the hidden patterns found throughout the universe. It is named after the Archangel Metatron, who watches over the flow of energy connecting earth and the divine. It can replace negative thoughts with positive ones. It reminds us that the universe wants us to discover our personal power and use it for good. Metatrons Cube is also considered a holy symbol and can be used for protection from evil.

The Flower of Life typically consists of nineteen overlapping circles that are spaced evenly apart. There are different variations of the F.O.L., but all most are believed to be a representation of the interconnectedness of life and all beings. There are a host of shapes; the egg of life which is visually similar to an embryo in early stages, the seed of life, formed by 7 overlapping circles, is thought to symbolize the 7 days of creation in christianity.

Let's Create a Grid

I have decided to make an abundance grid today, so I am going to choose crystals, stones and materials whose energy lends themselves to that purpose. I am using pyrite, green jade, and clear quartz. I am going to use a clear quartz point that is “single terminated” (pointed at one end, flat at the other) so that it will stand on its own in the center of my grid. Clear quartz is an excellent stone to augment the power of any intentional workings you do. I add them to every grid, medicine pouch, and amulet that I make.

I am going to use a piece of paper to write my intention on. This will go under the center crystal of my grid, the one that broadcasts my grids purpose to the Universe. You may also speak your intention aloud, silently to yourself, or with an image, whatever most resonates with you!

Next we need to find a safe place for our grid to live while it does its work.  Choosing a location for my grids can be tricky, thanks to furry family members and their curiosity. Mine will go on a shelf in my art studio.  If your grid is disturbed after you have set it up, just put it back together and re-activate it.

I choose to cleanse the area to clear out any lingering previous stale energy or negative vibes. I love the smell of Palo Santo, so I chose to cleanse my space by burning Palo Santo, but you decide what works best for you.

I breath deeply and center myself, visualizing my intention and what my life will look like with my intention coming to fruition. I place my tumbled stones on my grid working from outside in, since I’m drawing abundance to me. I hold my intention in my foremost mind as I place each stone. Next I place my center crystal in the center of the grid.

To activate my grid I’m going to visualize white light while holding a piece of selenite going from stone to stone on the grid. I am going to energetically connect each stone this way, again, starting from the outer perimeter of my grid moving in. I will speak my intention as I am doing this.

Sometimes I will place items that resonate with my purpose around the grid. For my abundance grid I am placing coins, cinnamon sticks, and bay leaves. I will likely light a green candle when I am in the same room, safety first, y’all.

As far as timing goes, that too is entirely up to you. I am working during a waxing moon and will leave it up until the full moon; in this case that will be 5 days. Working with the moon phases is part of any intentional workings that I do, but if that isn’t part of your practice, that’s fine too. You grid will work just fine whenever you decide to create it. Many sources suggest leaving your grid active for 21 days or more. Again, go with your gut.

I come back to the grid each day and sit with it for a few moments while focusing on my intention.

As you can see, a crystal grid can be as simple as you want, with just a circle of stones around a central crystal, or utilize multiple components to truly fine tune the expression of your intentions to the universe. Don’t hesitate to move your stones around into a shape or pattern that resonates with you. Don’t get stuck in the planning stage wondering if this is the “right way” or “wrong way”. There is no wrong way to create and use a crystal grid. Just go for it!

Until next time, Happy Gridding and Blessed Be.
